Clean Slate, Clean Plates

Ah Made my way to the local Farmer's market today! The fresh vegetables looked amazing and delicious. Something about me is - I HATE VEGTABLES. Well, hate is a harsh word but let's just say I never used to eat them. Except corn. Corn and green beans were about as good as it got. I am getting older and as a mother I am trying to lead by example so I've been doing my homework. I am hoping to become healthier and smarter with my food choices.

I picked up some Arugula, Basil, Lettuce, Green Beans, Black Beans, Great Northern Beans, New Potatoes and Zucchini. The zucchini is the biggest stretch for me... We will see how that goes. I am going to scour the internet to come up with some way to prepare it or add it to a meal.

Another dedication I made was to see if I could find some local raw milk. I actually live 5 miles away from a super nice lady who has cows and distributes raw milk. This is exciting news for me! She is closer than the grocery store!!

She even went over the butter making process with me so that I can make my own butter! I had my 3 year old with me and he got to see the new baby cow :) She had 6 puppies out in the farm too and I found myself bringing one home- now, THIS won't be happening EVERY time I go get milk (I hope)

That's my boy!!! No name yet... my husband may still veto the whole dog thing so I'm afraid to get attached. I hope to get him leash trained so that I have a buddy for my walks :)
